Susan Dworkin’s musical The Book of Candy, written in collaboration with composer Mel Marvin, was voted Best Musical by The Star Ledger of Newark in 2002. She was commissioned by Marilyn and Alan Bergman to write the new libretto for Queen of the Stardust Ballroom. She has published 14 books. Her most recent, The Nazi Officer’s Wife, (Harper Collins) was made into a documentary for A&E Network in 2005 and has sold more than ¼ million copies worldwide. Her plays include The Farm Bill, The Baking Song, The Old Mezzo, The Miami Dig, The Public Good, The Forgotten Lover and most recently All Day Suckers. In 2009, her new book, The Viking in the Wheat Field, will be published by Bloomsbury.
