FUNDRAISING PARTY:

Did someone say "party"?

On March 30 we will be having a fun costume party in support of Miss Lulu Bett at The Players, one of the most historic theatrical venues in the country. Here's your invite:

WorkShop Theater Company will hold a costume benefit in support of its production of Miss Lulu Bett, by Zona Gale (the first play written by a women to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama) at the historic theater club The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South, on Tuesday, March 30th, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Click Here For Tickets and More Information: http://workshoptheater.org/benefit_MIssLuluBett

The theme of the event will be a Prohibition speakeasy, with entertainment in both the Main Ballroom and the Sargent Room. In the speakeasy tradition, beer & wine will be served in coffee cups.

The event will relive the days when The Players was a gents-only establishment (its first female member was Helen Hayes, who joined in 1989) and the women who enjoyed its ambience did so as guests only. Entertainment will include singing, dancing and close-up magic from the cast and company artists of the WorkShop, vaudevillian pianist Annie Lebeaux, and others.

Tickets for the benefit are $20 in advance (credit card online or by phone), $25 at the door (cash only). Doors will open at 7:30 pm, with an open wine/beer bar from 8-9pm, cash bar after 9pm, and entertainment starting at 8:30, featuring pianist Annie Lebeaux and Gerrianne Raphael (The Man of La Mancha). A prize will be given to the best period costume and a raffle will be held for prizes including Broadway tickets and dance lessons.

Sounds like a great time and it's a benefit for a great show! What more could you want?

And THIS Saturday, March 13th, at 10pm, we're bringing the old-timey fun! It's time again for Vaudeville Nouveau!

It's March! The month of green beer, women's history and the coming of spring...what's not to love! We here at Vaudeville Nouveau have decided that the only way we can celebrate is by springing into action with an (almost) all female cast of fantastic acts. If you're not there…you will be green with envy.

As always we've decided to spread our love of old timey entertainment to you, by building our greatest show yet! This month's show is jam packed with fantastic acts – we have magic, we have music, we even have an unpredictable clown divorcée, but most importantly – we have burlesque!

As with every show, we will be offering up our very special "Date Night" and "Brown Bag" raffle - with some pretty epic prizes – as well as the "Booze & Pie" after-party where you can meet and mingle with the cast. See ya at the show!

We're bringing the old-timey fun THIS Saturday night! It's time for Vaudeville Nouveau!

Price: 15 Bucks, and, as always, the First Drink is FREE. Dress Up & Drink (wear campy, vampy, or hot-n-trampy attire) and a second drink ticket is yours too!

So let Vaudeville Nouveau give you all the raunchiness this Saturday that you so dearly miss all week. Get down here and see what all the fuss is about!

SUNDAY@SIX:

So every Sunday at 6pm we give you a FREE reading of a great play. Do we ask anything in return? No. Actually, we do ask that you come down. So there's that. And that's really not a lot. This week's play is The Silent Exile by Edward Albee playwriting fellow Kuros Charney (www.kuroscharney.com) and is Directed by Mike Smith Rivera. The cast features Gil Ron, Anna LaMadrid, Juan Villarreal, Yaremis Felix, Jaime Effron and Mike Smith Rivera.

The Silent Exile is a drama of love, betrayal, identity, and exile. A family of Cuban-Americans in Miami finds themselves in crisis when a daughter's decision to run for Congress uncovers her parents' turbulent political past.

Semi-Finalist for the Princess Grace Playwriting Award.

Sounds great! Come down and give us your feedback!
